About the Journal
Maalim for Translation is a peer-reviewed biannual journal established in 2009 and published by the High Council of the Arabic Language in Algeria.
The journal promotes research in translation studies and encourages translation from and into Arabic. It publishes original scholarly works, including theoretical, applied, and critical studies in general and specialized translation across literary, scientific, and technical fields.
It covers various translation modes such as written translation, interpreting, audiovisual translation, machine translation, and AI in translation, while also welcoming interdisciplinary contributions in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, communication, and education.
The journal aims to strengthen translation as both a research field and professional practice, fostering collaboration with researchers in Algeria and internationally, especially those working with Arabic translation.

Current Issue
Maalim for Translation is a semi-annual journal established in 2009 and published by the Higher Council of the Arabic Language in Algeria, aimed at contributing to the promotion of scientific research in the field of translation and promoting the movement of translation from and into Arabic. To this end, the Journal is accepted publishing academic and scientific research, theoretical, applied and critical, original and serious, on various branches of public translation that specialize in different literary, scientific and technical fields, and in various forms, both old and new, from translation, interpretation, visual translation, computer translation, machine translation, artificial intelligence, etc. and in many relevant fields of linguistic and other sciences. Maalim seeks to promote short-term and long-term research and practice in translation in order to take its natural place among other sciences, the Journal opens contacts with researchers and professors interested in translation issues from Algeria and abroad, especially those who have experiences in translation from and into Arabic. The journal may also publish articles related to applied linguistics in general and anything related to translation , especially if the study is characterised by depth and seriousness.
