Translation of technical terms from French into Arabic between the dictionaries’ correspondances and documentary research.

: This article seeks to clarify the failure of dictionaries to give precise correspondences of technical term in general and of the terms of construction and public works in particular, as well as to extract the exact meaning which results from the documentary research by bringing the meaning of the term in the source language (French language) to the target language (the Arabic language), following the theory of sense for the School of Paris. We started from the problematic of knowing whether the professional translator relies on binary dictionaries only to translate technical terms, and we concluded that there are other tools such as monolingual dictionary, consultation of specialists and documentary research that help the translator to understand the meaning of technical terms
