Lexical Choices in Literary Translation under the Impact of Ideology A practical Study in the Light of Critical Discourse Analysis Approach «The Palace of Desire» as a Case Study

This study is devoted to the translation of literary texts as supports of cultural characteristics, and its role in intercultural dialogue. However, translation has never turn away from the controversy of the adequate method of translating which ever free itself from the grip of ideology as a decisive element in elaborating theories and translation methods, defining its aim and the relation of original text to the target one. To point up the impact of ideology, we carried out this analytical study on lexical choices that reflect the translator's culture and his own vision of the world, in the French translation of «The Palace of Desire» in the light of critical discourse analysis approach intended to reveal the manifestations of ideology mainly through the procedures of distortion, deletion and addition. The study aims to aware on the impact of ideology in literary translation on the translator's conscious or unconscious.
