Literary translation has always been the subject of controversy among translation pioneers. Practitioners and theorists. Despite the differences between them, they can be classified according to two effective axes: those who support the original language, and those who support the target language. The reason for this difference between the two sides is the cultural role of translation, and the priorities of literary translation between preserving the specificity of the language and culture of the original text and focusing on the literary components of a common human nature. This article aims to highlight some of the problems that translation raises in a post-colonial context, on both the theoretical and the practical levels . We examined the gap between the theoretical propositions that assess literary translation as a tributary between linguistic and intercultural, and between translation practices that are subject to power relations and cultural hegemony. This is confirmed by the studies of Richard Jackmond, and Fatiha Al-Tayeb, on literary translation from Arabic into French.
