دخل الذكاء الاصطناعي التوليدي مجال تعليم اللغات بسرعة غير مسبوقة، لكنّ أبعاده التربوية لا تزال غير محددة. ولفهم القيمة التعليمية للذكاء الاصطناعي التوليدي في تدريس اللغات؛ يرى المقال أن أفضل طريقة لذلك تتجلى من خلال ثلاثة عناصر مترابطة: التخصيص، والممارسة، والكفاءة. يشير التخصيص إلى القدرة على توليد مدخلات متنوعة، ودعامات تعليمية، وردود فعل على نطاق لا يستطيع عمل المعلم وحده عادةً أن يواكبه. وتشير الممارسة إلى توسيع فرص المحادثة والكتابة والمراجع. أما الكفاءة فتشير إلى الحاجة إلى ربط المهام المدعومة بالذكاء الاصطناعي بمعايير معترف بها لتحسين التواصل بدلاً من الطلاقة السطحية لمخرجات الآلة. يطور البحث هذه الالتزامات من خلال منظور يركز على التربية أولاً حيث ينشأ التعلم من التفاعل بين المتعلم والمعلم والآلة، لكن يظل المعلم هو المصمم الرئيسي والمنسق والمقيم لبيئة التعلّم. وتُستخدم اللغة العربية في هذا المقال كله كاختبار للتحمّل وليس كمثال جانبي. وباعتبارها لغة أقل شيوعًا في التدريس لكنها ذات أهمية استراتيجية، وتكشف اللغة العربية عن محدودية النماذج الحالية: التغطية اللهجية غير المتكافئة، والتحيز الثقافي، وتعقيد ثنائية اللغة، وقلة الأدلة على الآثار طويلة المدى في الفصول الدراسية.
يخلص المقال إلى أن الذكاء الاصطناعي التوليدي يوفر إمكانيات حقيقية لتعلم اللغة، ولكن فقط في ظل ظروف يتوسط فيها المعلم لحماية الأصالة، وكفاءة المتعلم، وصحة التقييم، والسلامة الثقافية.
