Abstract

This intervention aims to reveal the manifestations of visual semiotic signs in the film The Message, translated into English, as a religious drama that depicts major turning points in Islamic history-the prophetic mission and the beginning of the call to God alone- and links them to the meanings formed in the minds of non-Arab viewers. Vision is the primary medium for representational images, with their colors, symbols, movements, and external appearances, in our quest to observe how visual images convey meaning. This is especially true given that the theme of the religious drama under study is Arabism and Islam, in which Moustapha Akkad assigned roles to non-Arabs and non-Muslims as well. How did the visual image of the film affect the audience's understanding? What were its elements? To what extent did visual semiotics convey the desired meanings
