The translation of Arabic literature in Spanish (2001-2005)

Abstract

The two researchers, Luz Comendador and Gonzalo Parrilla attempted to provide a review of the bibliography of translating Arabic literature into Spanish between the years 2001 and 2005 in brief. They discussed the development of the publishing and translation market in Spain and the most important factors affecting the interest of Spanish translators in translating contemporary Arabic literature.

The researchers provided a list of the most important Arabic titles translated into Spanish in the aforementioned period of poetry, narratives, and biographies, which remain few compared to the depth of Spanish-Arab relations.
