Abstract

Translating the Koranic text is one of the most difficult issues the translator deals with given that it is God’s wordsthat challenged the world to create something like it.Here lies the role of the translator through the faithful transmission of the Koranic text, starting from the names of Koranic surahs to the text itself.Given that the names of the surahs are divergent among the translators of the Qur’an, we decided to do this study to highlight the strategies chosen by the translator to transfer these names into French.It should be noted here that we will rely in this study on Mona Baker’s strategies in translation and address this issue by analyzing some models of the names of surahs after devising the strategy followed by the translator to determine the accuracy of translating the meanings of these names.
