The Three Dimensions of Eco-Translatology: Applications in Chinese–Arabic Translation

This study explores Professor Hu Gengshen’s Eco-translatology and its potential application to Chinese–Arabic translation. The theory views translation as a holistic adaptive process, integrating linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions within a new environment that meets the conditions of reception. The applied analysis of Chinese–Arabic translations shows that the integration of these dimensions enables balanced translation beyond literalism, strengthens intercultural communication, and highlights the translator’s cultural awareness as a key factor in successful translation. The study recommends incorporating the theory into translation teaching curricula, developing training programs for textual environment analysis, and promoting applied research to enhance translation practices.
