Abstract

This article deals with the question of the origins and genesis of the terminology; Starting with the history of the need to name things since Antiquity and the emergence of the specialization that deals with this issue, passing through the era of modern renaissance and the emergence of new needs in the field of the denomination and classification of the products of civilization, and these needs have increased with the beginning of the twentieth century and the accompanying developments in all areas: political, economic and political, cognitive and intellectual; Which in turn were the precursors of the emergence of a terminology, which deals mainly with terminological theory and standardization.
