This article discusses the use
of Algerian dialect along with standard
Arabic in literary translations. It presents
and analyzes examples from two
translations Algerian Arabic to show how
opting for hybridity promotes linguistic
complementarity and helps consolidating
it. It also emphasizes the role of dialect in
preserving the identity of the original text.
For this purpose, we chose as a corpus for
this study, Ahmed Bakli's translation of
Dib’s Trilogy, and Lucienne Brousse and
