المصطلحات العلمية مفاتيحُ علميةِ وأدوات معرفية إمّا أن تحصّل العلوم وتؤصلها، أو تنقلها وتوظّفها، ومن هذا المنطلق فإنّها ضرورات منهجية تضبط العلاقة بين المفاهيم المعرفية، وتحدّد معالم التفكير والبيان، ووحدات تحقّق مقاصد التفاهم والتواصل.
يعدّ مصطلح الهرمنيوطيقا عماد التأويل عند الغرب فقد استقّل بآلياته المعرفية لفهم الوجود والإنسان والتراث، ولقد وظّف الحداثيون العرب النظرية التأويلية في تفسير النص القرآني متأثرين بمناهج الفكر الغربي ليصلوا إلى محاذير علمية متعدّدة يأباها البحث العلمي الموضوعي وترضها المعارف البديهية والمسلّمات القطعية.
