Abstract

Theorizing for translation is often described as a complementary act providing no benefit to practice. However, a question arises as to what is the interest of the theoretical conceptions of translation from Cicero to the present day. Our study deals with the theoretical context of translation. It offers an explanation to the ethnological and ideological institution and schematizes the practical strategies of translation studies.
