Abstract

This study explores the interplay between standardization and variation in the translation of scientific terminology. It proposes an integrative model that reconciles the methodological rigor of terminology with the inherent linguistic and cultural diversity of translation. By analyzing a set of specialized terms in cardiology, the research highlights the complementary relationship between terminology and translation and identifies the scientific imperatives—such as precision and clarity—that justify both standardization and variation.
