Abstract

 "Theory and Analysis of Linguistics" is a book with the specifications of a large scientific project, crafted by its author Bernard Pottier gradually, and was based on a collection of scientific articles that he published between 1975 and 1985, and then subjected to the standards of correction, editing, deepening, reconsideration, and addition as mentioned in the book's introduction. Pottier studied many of the linguistic concepts in his book, especially grammatical and semantic ones. A condsiderble number of precise terms were collected in the book, such as: Seme, Sememe, Noeme, Taxeme, Lexie, Morpheme, Syntagma, and others. However, I have chosen to translate only one section that focuses on Semes, in which I rely on the semantic translation of the terms, since Arabization is not suitable for the Arabic-speaking recipients who are not fluent in French.
