This article explores the increasing role of English in Algerian universities and the critical need for translation to facilitate this linguistic transition. As globalization permeates various sectors, the demand for proficiency in English - international lingua franca - has intensified within Algerian higher education institutions. This article highlights the challenges and opportunities presented by this shift, analysing the importance of translation in bridging communication gaps and fostering cross-cultural understanding within the educational system. The study employs recent statistics and case studies to demonstrate the impact of English on the Algerian higher education landscape emphasizing the necessity for robust translation practices to enhance educational outcomes.
