: This article addresses issues related to terminological practices, relying on the applications of terminology and comparing them to those of lexicography. It also discusses the needs and means associated with applied terminology, which result from the significant scientific and technological development over the past few decades. Terminologists strive to find updated ways to name these new concepts. These means are primarily based on linguistic and cultural dimensions. Indeed, language is closely linked to the culture of societies, and all linguistic and conceptual resources are mobilized to establish and standardize terms
